Hollick Wines are proud to announce that their donation towards LARA and LAM sufferer Ros Pollard’s medical expenses has increased due to further wine sales since the December Family Fun Day.
Local Girl Ros Pollard was diagnosed with LAM (Lymphangioleiomyomatosis) in August 2009. On December 12th 2009, Ros’ friends and family gathered to help organize the Family Fun Day in an effort to raise money and awareness for LARA (LAM Australasia Research Alliance), which seeks a cure for LAM, a rare & debilitating lung disease.
At the Fun Day, Mel Hollick, Sales & Marketing Manager, Hollick Wines & school friend of Ros, presented a cheque for over $10,000 to LARA’s Heather Telford. The money was raised through wine sales of Hollick Wines to friends and family, the local community, further afield and through the Hollick Wines Coonawarra Cellar Door Sales outlet.
The wine sale, held over November and into December received overwhelming support especially from the friends of Ros Pollard, who have rallied to assist her in her fight against the devastating effects of LAM. In total over $14,000 was raised to aid the cause and distributed accordingly.
The Fun Day raised a further $25,000 and it’s success was a credit to the committee of friends and the local community who contributed to the day. A very big thank you goes to all those involved.
