Aussie Music Legend Rocks Hollick Wines
Hollick Wines hosted the 4th annual Hot Summer Night event in their Coonawarra
winery recently. Australian rock legend Ross Wilson and his band the Urban
Legends rocked a packed Hollick Wines barrel shed as the winery showcased a
selection of great local food and wine combined with a classic Australian rock
legend.
It was a packed house as over 200 guests were treated to a superb 3-course
meal prepared by Upstairs Chef Ian Perry which included a cauliflower and parmesan
panna cotta, a delightful chicken breast stuffed with semi dried tomatoes and
herbs served with ratatouille, along with a selection of cheese, dried fruit
and quince paste for dessert. The meal was perfectly matched to some great Hollick
wines commencing with Hollick Sparkling Merlot and Frizzanté on arrival, followed
by Reserve Chardonnay, Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon and the innovative Hollick
Barbera and Coonawarra.
The atmosphere was electric as guests rocked the night away to the classic
hits such as Daddy Cool and Come Said the Boy. The evening ended in an electrifying
way as the band concluded the concert with Australia’s favorite rock anthem,
Eagle Rock. Not one person was left seated as the favorite was belted out by
the vocal 200+crowd.
The event followed on from successful Hot Summer Nights which featured past
performances from Cotton, Keays and Morris, Babba and John Waters. Ross and
his band were no exception and were absolutely fantastic, their electric stage
craft made sure that everyone hit the dance floor and had a great time.
The event was again a success, showcasing a wonderfully talented Australian
artist, and the team at Hollick Wines look forward to hosting another Hot Summer
Night in 2009.
